I don’t know how many people die in parachute accidents every year, but before we came away I did look up on the internet how many people have accidents on holiday. Which I know I shouldn’t have done. I thought it might make me less anxious. It didn’t. It had the opposite effect: 500,000 British people got into trouble on their holidays last year; 20,000 lost their passports; 3,500 of them ended up in hospital and 4,000 actually died.
